Bi-Weekly Beer Review Episode 7

Consecration – Russian River Brewing (Santa Rosa, CA) ABV 10% 4.5 out of 5

My family was camping in bodega bay which made it easy to drive to Santa Rosa and pick up a few bottles at Russian River Brewing Company including this amazing American Sour Ale. consecration is an Ale aged 4-8 months in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels with currents added.

Dark brown color with a tan head. The most incredible sour scent with a wine nose. Strong tart and bitter sour flavor, I get the wine in the back end. I get the flavor of the currents at first taste. This is one great sour ale. The bottle is a little over 12oz and it’s $13.

Bi-Weekly Beer Review Episode 6

Blind Pig IPA – Russian River Brewing (Santa Rosa, CA) ABV 6.1% 4.5 out of 5 –

I have been wanting to try this beer for a while but have never seen it in stores. I was camping up in Bodega Bay so I went over to Santa Rosa to pick up some beer at Russian River Brewing.

Nice thick whitehead and the color is dark golden. Scent of fresh sweet floral hops. The taste is sweet hoppy, not strong hoppy like other IPAs. This is much different then pliny the elder not as strong or bitter. I drank this on July 2nd and the bottle date of this bottle is 6-20-14. It is super tasty and a must buy again.
