The beer Heads – www.thebeerheads.com

The beer heads have a great website for beer lovers, with more information then just a beer blog. Their most popular segment must be their beer review video blogs. They also have news articles on new and upcoming beer releases and other beers news. Sections with beer and food pairings, proper glassware usage, and an online store for their popular shirts and new upcoming merchandise they have a complete beer webpage.

The beer heads team consists of Jaye Specialist, Art and Peter. They are good guys and easy to talk too. I’ve talked with Jaye a couple times and it’s always a great conversation. If you see them at a Bay Area beer event just say hi to them. You’ll catch me wearing their shirts at beer events.

I got to meet Matt Brynildson head brewer at Firestone Walker

It was Thursday February 13th 2014 and it was SF beer week. Harry’s Hofbrau San Jose was having the Firestone Walker The Roots of XVII. This was a huge event with rare ales from the company and Matt Brynildson giving seminar on blending barrel aged beers.

This wound up to be a good and bad day. My wife and I went to sleep train in the morning to get a new mattress. The event started at 6:00pm and they came to deliver my mattress at 6:00pm and after 30 minutes of the two guys arguing and calling people they tell me the mattress isn’t on the truck and they will be back later. We’ll 45 minutes later they show up with the mattress and now it’s 7:20pm and my family and I still need to eat dinner before I go to the beer event.

My wife and 2 kids have a tradition of going to pizza my heart for two heart shaped pizzas the day before valentines day. We went and did that some I didn’t get to Harry’s until 9:45pm. Without saying I missed the seminar and some of the rare ales.

When I got there I said hi to my group of friends then got my first beer. They still had Velvet Merlin on cask so I got one. When I sat down next to my friend Daniel little did I know on my other side was Matt Brynildson eating dinner. My other friend Scott all drunk came up and made a big deal who I was sitting next too. We talked about stuff but I didn’t talk his ear off about beer I thought he got a lot of that’ll already. I did tell him how the Velvet Merkins release was one of the best beer event I’ve ever been too. My friend Justin opened a bottle of Sante Adairius – Nonna’s blend #5 surprisingly Matt had never had any Sante beers.

I did get to have a couple beers here they are

Japan Town Beer Walk – SF Beer Week Saturday 2/8/14

20140210-173020.jpg

San Jose Japan town Beer Walk was Saturday February 8th and was one of the first events during San Francisco Beer Week 2014. It was a great day with no rain. The event had 22 breweries each at different locations in a couple block radius in Japan town San Jose. We didn’t make it to all 22 stations but we had a great time and had good company. There wasn’t rare ales, most of the brews you can find in store but it was a great event.

I went with my good friend beer Jesus then met up with my cousin Tim. Later we met some co workers of mine. It was great seeing fellow beer bloggers Jaye from http://www.Thebeerheads.com which is always good conversation and Derrick Peterman of http://beer-runner.blogspot.com

I was impressed with two new breweries for me Firehouse and Mavericks. Also I confirmed that unfortunately don’t like San Jose’s Strike Brewery and I really wanted to like them. After the event my buddy and I walked all the way over to Original Gravity for their bruery event and then to Good Karma to see our friend on her last day of work.
